To secure tickets conveniently, we recommend you book online. Simply browse our website performances or community events. Credit card bookings can also be made by phone on 1800 657 158.

The Box Office opens 30 minutes prior to show times. Ararat Town Hall supports the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice. Ararat Town Hall is the only supplier of authorised tickets to its program and advises consumers to be aware of risks in buying tickets from the ticket resale market, which may not be honoured by the venue.

Youth / Concessions

Pensioners, seniors card holders and students all qualify for reduced ticket prices. Concession Card holders may be required to present their concession cards when making a booking, or on entry to the event.

Getting Here

Driving

Ararat lies at an important junction of several highways about 198 kilometres north west of Melbourne. Due to the Western Highway Duplication Project between Beaufort and Ararat travellers may experience delays.

Parking

Parking is available in front of the Ararat Town Hall on Barkly St, as well at the rear of and adjacent to the centre.

Public Transport

Trains run directly to Ararat from Southern Cross Station daily with coach connections to Halls Gap, Hamilton, Warrnambool and Horsham. Ararat Town Hall is located 550 meters from Ararat Railway Station, an approximate 7-minute walk. The bus stop 36907 in front of the Town Hall on Barkly St is not currently operating, but please check for updates with Public Transport Victoria.

Cycling and walking

Ararat Town Hall is a short ride or walk from Ararat Train Station. Bicycle lanes operate along Barkly Street – there is currently no bicycle valet at the Town Hall.

Eat & Drink

The Ararat Town Hall bar is open on select shows, and offers a range of local beer, wines and beverages. The complex also has a café in the west wing of the Town Hall, which is open during the day and serves a range of hot and cold drinks, desserts and lunches.

Wheelchair Access

The Ararat Town Hall (Ararat Performing Arts Centre) is wheelchair accessible from the north side of Barkly Street footpath via a slight incline to the ramp. There is a clearly marked accessible carpark to the lefthand side (LHS) of the building, within three metres of the ramp. The ramp has an incline with tactile indicators at the top and bottom, and metal handrails on both sides. There is a flat landing at the top of the ramp, with two open wooden doors opening into an internal matted area.

The automatic double doors open into the main theatre foyer which has a tight pile accessible carpeted flooring, with open spacing and good lighting. Wheelchair access to all areas of the theatre, is via a flat level surface, including the rear of the theatre and green room for performers. The bar is located in the main foyer area and has an accessible bench on the lefthand side. The foyer then opens into a large room with seating with no arm rests around the border of the room. There is recharge point for electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters in this area on the LHS. Please speak to staff if help is needed.

There is wheelchair seating in the main auditorium, to ensure satisfaction please speak to our staff with your requirements when you make your booking. Please note that the flooring changes from carpeted to timber in the main auditorium.

Parking / Public Transport

There is a single designated accessible parking space located at the front of the Ararat Town Hall located on the left-hand side the Ararat Town Hall entry. There are an additional parking spaces in the carpark on the right-hand side of the venue that are not designated accessible parking spaces. The Town Hall can be accessed via the ramp that is within 3 meters of the accessible parking spot which leads to the Ararat Town Hall main entrance.

The bus stop 36907 in front of the Town Hall on Barkly St is not currently operating. There is however a public bus stop that is located to the left of the Art Gallery on High Street. This bus stop is identified as the Ararat RSL public bus stop and has public transport signage and inlaid tactile indicators for vision impaired patrons. The Ararat Town Hall can be accessed via concrete footpaths 25 meters past the gallery entrance which is approximately and is approximately 90 metres from the bus stop.

Toilets

An accessible toilet is located via a clearly signed doorway on the LHS in the main theatre foyer close to the entry point.

The accessible toilet is identified as a unisex accessible toilet LH facility & parent room and has both braille and raised tactile lettering on the sign. The toilet has a wide wooden door that swings inwards (assistance may be needed) with tiled flooring, lever tap with a basin and a wall mounted baby change table. There are grab rails behind the toilet and to the side at a height of 900mm to assist a person rising. There is a contrast from the dark tiled floor to the light-coloured walls to increase accessibility for people with a vision impairment.

Both the female and male toilets are ambulant toilets with braille and raised tactile lettering on the sign.

Sensory environment

Many people who are neurodiverse, can have difficulty processing sensory information. Sensory areas are designed to reduce anxiety and sensory stress for patrons who would benefit from a quieter and less stimulating environment and increases accessibility for all.

Assistance Animals

Assistance animals are welcome. The closest safe greenspace at the front left-hand side of the venue. There is a large landscaped grassed area that is open to the public on the left-hand side of the Ararat Town Hall entry and is accessed via the footpath.

This card has been developed by the Victorian Network on Recreation and Disability (VICNORD) and allows carers to attend as a complimentary guest.
