In a first for regional Victoria, the Ararat Musical Comedy Society, by arrangement with David Spicer Productions, will be staging six performances of LADIES IN BLACK, from the 17 – 26 June 2022.
LADIES IN BLACK is a home-grown Australian musical, by Carolyn Burns and Tim Finn based on the novel ‘The Women In Black’ by Madeleine St John.

It is a ‘coming of age’ story of a young, intelligent, ‘bookworm’ embarking on a summer job at F.G. Goodes department store in Sydney between her Leaving Certificate and hopefully starting a Literature degree at Sydney University.

Tim Finn’s music is catchy, clever and intelligent whilst capturing 1950’s Australian phrases in an era before crassness and swearing took over and encaptures truths that an audience can relate to.
