Winners of Youth Artist of the Year at the 2024 AFMAs, Apolline is a lively group of young folkies fuelled by the love of all things folk and copious cups of tea. Equipped with alluring voices, formidable tunes, and an extensive collection of colourful socks, the group views folk music with an exciting, genre-bending perspective. Their unique instrumentation of fiddle, (Luisa Hickey), cello (Tess Hickey) and double bass (Laura Heaney) is skillfully used to create highly intricate arrangements that range from energetic dance sets to hauntingly intimate songs, all of which draw in audiences from all walks of musical life.

Apolline’s debut recorded project ‘Home Home’ is a collection of traditional, contemporary and original tunes and songs, drawing on their musical experiences in the forever evolving Australian-Celtic scene. It highlights Apolline’s signature intricate arrangements which create a vast array of tracks, from exciting energetic traditional tune sets, to reflective original compositions. Recorded and mixed by Mischa Herman on Wurundjeri Country, Victoria and mastered by Crystal Mastering, the album has a fresh, acoustic, live sound. ‘Home Home’ earned two nominations at the 2024 Australian Folk Music Awards for Debut Album of the Year and Traditional Folk Album of the Year.
