Globe-trotting troubadour Carus Thompson has toured the world alongside The John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson & Pete Murray, selling over 30,000 albums along the way.

He’s won his loyal fan base through 25 years of hitting the road, always delivering passionate, energetic, folk-rocking shows that entertain and engage.

FORTE magazine has called him “Australia’s answer to Bruce Springsteen” and like the boss, live is where Carus does his thing the best.

His passionate and genuine pub-rock approach to performance, sets him apart from the majority of singer-songwriters. A Carus Thompson show will always be a journey through quiet ballads, to all out rockers, to some dance-floor fillers, all delivered with his unpretentious, crowd-inclusive energy.

His latest release Neon Folk, his 8th studio album was produced by long-time friend and fellow West Australian musical treasure Nathan Gaunt. Neon Folk was recorded in Perth between the border closures, lockdowns and mayhem of 2020/21. Thompson was living in Melbourne and found himself separated from his wife and children for over six months.

This tumultuous time has produced a wonderful record with themes of determination, hope and surprisingly, positivity.

It’s been released to critical and popular acclaim, joining his extensive back catalogue and further demonstrating why he’s one of this country’s favourite independent acoustic artists.

Come see him live; you won’t be disappointed.
