Please be aware that the Skate into Summer event ice rink is a synthetic surface, not real ice. Although the surface is treated to feel like real ice, skaters may need to exert more effort to glide due to a 15% difference in glide compared to traditional ice.
The skating surface will include a barrier. There will also be a rubber matting area where the skaters will walk within the skate fitting area, adjoining the ice rink. Helmets, skates and penguin learn to skate aids are all available.
